As soon as I started performing magic at weddings I noticed how the magic attracted the attention of the official wedding photographer. It seemed like I’d just make a start with the first group at a drinks reception and I’d started to hear the ‘click, click, click’ of the camera.

In my experience, wedding photographers work really hard to capture the happiness of a wedding and photographing the spectators of magic encapsulates this. As a magician we are looking for eyes to pop, jaws to drop and, most importantly, for big smiles and laughs.

In January I performed at the wedding of Kesley & Luke at the very lovely Down Hall. This was the first time I encountered the very talented Scott Johnson of The Edge Photography. Scott tuned in quickly to the opportunity to get some shots of the spectators and captured some of the best reactions I’ve ever had snapped. He generously shared them with me and there are a few here.
